Mumbai, November 2025 : Indian cinema has lost one of its greatest icons. Dharmendra, fondly known as the ‘He-Man of Bollywood’, passed away on 24 November 2025 at the age of 89. The legendary actor, who would have turned 90 on December 8, breathed his last weeks after being discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on 12 November. He was believed to be recovering at home, making the news of his death even more heartbreaking for fans across the globe.

Dharmendra, one of the most loved and respected stars of Hindi cinema, delivered unforgettable performances in classics like Sholay, Satyakam, Seeta Aur Geeta, Chupke Chupke and many more. He was last seen in the 2024 film “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.” The actor was also gearing up for an important role in Sriram Raghavan’s war drama “Ikkis”, starring Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikandar Kher.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Offers Condolences

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also mourned the passing of the Padma Bhushan awardee. In his official message, he said:

“Dharmendra illuminated the golden era of Indian cinema. From charming romantic roles to powerful intense characters, he will forever stay alive in the hearts of film lovers… The film industry has suffered an enormous loss.”
