Gorkha Himalayan Festival 2026 Dehradun: With the Gorkha Himalayan Festival 2026 approaching, preparations have gained momentum as the organizing body, Shaheed Durga Malla Memorial Trust, has launched an extensive door-to-door invitation campaign across the city. Members of the trust, especially women volunteers, are visiting homes, offices, and institutions to personally invite ministers, government officials, cultural enthusiasts, and the general public to participate in this grand cultural celebration.
The three-day Gorkha Himalayan Festival 2026 is scheduled to be held on 20, 21, and 22 February 2026 at Mahendra Ground, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun. The festival aims to showcase the rich Himalayan and Gorkha heritage, culture, traditions, and skills on a large public platform.

Sharing details about the campaign, Trust President Kamala Thapa said that public participation is the backbone of any successful cultural event. “That is why we are personally inviting people connected to culture, art, and social service, along with citizens from all walks of life. She added that the door-to-door invitation drive reflects the spirit of inclusiveness and community bonding that the festival stands for.
Festival to Highlight Himalayan Food, Fashion, and Culture
Trust Secretary Prabha Shah informed that visitors to the Gorkha Himalayan Festival 2026 will get a vibrant glimpse of traditional hill cuisine, ethnic attire, cultural fashion shows, and diverse folk activities. The festival will begin with a Psycholothon, sending a positive message of mental well-being and social awareness.
Special emphasis will be laid on environmental responsibility. Throughout the three days, the festival venue will promote a polythene-free campaign, encouraging visitors to adopt eco-friendly practices.
