Nipah virus is a zoonotic virus that can spread to humans through infected animals or contaminated food. Its symptoms include fever, headache, cough, difficulty in breathing, vomiting, which in severe cases leads to swelling of the brain, which can even lead to death.

Lockdown like situation in the state

High-risk Nipah patients have been asked to stay inside their homes. The routes of the two Nipah patients who died have been published, so that people do not use those routes. Gathering of large numbers of people at festivals and celebrations has been banned in Kozhikode. 58 wards of nine panchayats in Vadakara taluka of Kozhikode district have been declared containment zones.

Essential services and only entry and exit are allowed in these zones. Shops selling essential goods will be allowed to function from 7 am to 5 pm. No time limit has been given for pharmacies and health centres. According to the instructions, buses or vehicles plying on national highways through containment zones should not stop in the affected areas.

Lockdown comeback! Central government sent team

The reason for the central government being active is the continuous increase in cases and two recent deaths. The government knows that just a few months ago, WHO has given relief by removing Corona from the global epidemic. It is not hidden from anyone what the condition of the country was caused by Corona in 2020 and 2021. People still get scared remembering that critical time. Covid had also hurt India’s economy. In such a situation, it is not a good thing for another virus to dominate the country. Therefore, the Central Government has sent a team of health experts there. She will find out about the situation there and the infection of the virus.
