AAP Attacks BJP in Delhi : After the results of the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, the political temperature has risen significantly. While the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is working on a restructuring strategy following its defeat, the BJP has yet to decide on its Chief Ministerial candidate for Delhi. Taking advantage of this delay, AAP has launched an attack on BJP, accusing it of internal factionalism.
AAP’s Attack on BJP Over CM Face
AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar directly targeted the BJP, claiming that internal conflicts within the party have reached their peak. She alleged that BJP is divided into groups of 10-10 members, making it difficult for them to finalize a name for Delhi’s next Chief Minister.
A New Challenge for Kejriwal ( AAP Attacks BJP in Delhi )
While BJP struggles to select its CM candidate, Arvind Kejriwal also faces a crucial decision. AAP now needs to appoint a Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly. With Kejriwal himself losing his seat, he must find a leader who can not only safeguard the party’s interests in the assembly but also effectively raise public issues.
Who is Leading the Race for the Leader of the Opposition?
According to political analysts, Atishi Marlena is the strongest contender for the post. She won the Kalkaji Assembly seat by defeating senior BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri. Atishi has Kejriwal’s full confidence and has previously served as a minister. Due to her strong leadership skills, she is considered the most likely candidate for the Leader of the Opposition.
Other Potential Candidates
Apart from Atishi, Gopal Rai and Sanjeev Jha are also strong contenders for the position. Gopal Rai is a founding member of AAP and has won from Babarpur for the third consecutive time. Sanjeev Jha, on the other hand, is a strong representative of the Purvanchali community. Additionally, young Dalit leader Kuldeep Kumar is also being considered for the role. Kuldeep’s father is a sanitation worker in the MCD, and by appointing him, AAP could strengthen its Dalit support base.
Future Strategy
AAP is now preparing to play the role of a strong opposition with a new strategy. Arvind Kejriwal is conducting continuous meetings to boost the party’s morale. Meanwhile, AAP’s attacks on BJP over its internal conflicts continue.
It remains to be seen who BJP will appoint as Delhi’s Chief Minister and who AAP will choose as its Leader of the Opposition. However, one thing is certain—despite its defeat, AAP is gearing up to play an active role in Delhi’s politics in the coming days.
