Aman Bhandari case : Some youths attacked a youth with sharp weapons in Patel Nagar area of Dehradun. The youth was seriously injured in the attack and has been admitted to the hospital.
According to the information, Aman Bhandari, a resident of Saraswati Vihar, is a student of B.Com Honors in a private college located in Patel Nagar. On Thursday evening at around 4.30 pm, he was going home from college with a friend on a bike. It is alleged that some youths pushed his friend from near the college gate and attacked Aman with sharp weapons. The number of attackers is said to be 15 to 20.
Aman was seriously injured in the attack. He has got deep injuries on his head. The friend, with the help of the local people, admitted him to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, where his condition remains critical.
On getting information about the matter, people of Hindu organizations including Hindu Vahini reached the hospital in large numbers and started a ruckus. On the information of uproar, along with Patel Nagar, the forces of nearby police stations also reached the spot. People of Hindu organizations kept creating ruckus in the hospital till late night demanding the arrest of the attackers.
Kotwali Inspector Suryabhushan Negi told that raids are being done to arrest the attackers. Some of the attackers have been detained by the police. After questioning whom, efforts are being made to arrest others.
Threats were being received after the post on social media
A few months back, Aman Bhandari had made some comments on social media posts posted by a particular community. After this Aman also shared this post. A complaint was made to the police on behalf of a particular community. However, a month back, an agreement was reached between both the parties in the SSP office and Aman deleted the post. But Aman’s friends allege that even after this, he was receiving constant threats from youths of a particular community. There was a fatal attack on him on Thursday.
Hindu organizations accused police of negligence
In this case, Hindu organizations have accused the police of negligence. Vikas Verma of Hindu Vahini said that even after the agreement was reached in the SSP office, the people of the particular community started threatening him. Since then he was receiving threats continuously. Aman had complained about this to the police, but even after this the police did not take it seriously. After which the youths attacked Aman. He has demanded immediate arrest of the attackers.
The police is probing the matter and the attackers are expected to be arrested soon.
