
DM Savin Bansal : Government Approves ₹1.6 Crore for Pink and General Toilets
District Magistrate (DM) Savin Bansal of Dehradun is actively working towards making the city more women-friendly and improving public amenities. He has taken several significant steps to ensure better toilet facilities for women and the general public. In this regard, the government has approved the construction of pink and general toilets, with a financial sanction of ₹160.90 lakh.
Rapid Progress for Women’s Convenience
DM Bansal’s primary objective is to ensure that residents and visitors, especially women, do not face a lack of basic facilities in Dehradun. To achieve this, he recently conducted a motorcycle inspection of the city along with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and other officials. During the inspection, he visited key markets and public places to identify suitable locations for the construction of pink and general toilets.
Locations Where Pink and General Toilets Will Be Built
Seven key locations in the city have been identified for the construction of pink toilets and public restrooms, including:
- Ramesh Book Depot – Pink Toilet
- Dispensary Road Parking – Pink Toilet
- Raja Road-2 – Urinal
- Near Gaylord Shoes – Urinal
- Near Rajiv Gandhi Complex – Pink Toilet
- Tehsil Chowk Parking – Male & Female Toilets
- Under Ballupur Chowk Flyover – Male & Female Toilets
Ensuring Easy Accessibility for the Public
DM Savin Bansal emphasized that this project is crucial for providing better amenities to women and the general public in the city. The initiative is part of the government’s priority to enhance sanitation, safety, and accessibility in Dehradun.
Pink Toilet Construction to Begin This Month
The DM has confirmed that work on this project will commence this month and will be completed as soon as possible, ensuring that women have access to clean and safe toilet facilities. This initiative is a significant step toward improving urban infrastructure and public convenience.
