Weather has changed in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Most of the areas of the city have become waterlogged due to sudden heavy rain in the afternoon. The main roads are submerged and the water of the drains is flowing on the roads. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain with thunder for tomorrow and today.

Dehradun. During heavy rains, the roads of Doon were flooded with water and rivers and drains overflowed. A five-year-old girl fell and was swept away in a drain passing near Madrasi Colony. Police and SDRF team started searching. But, the girl could not be found till late evening.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Lakkhibagh outpost police of the city Kotwali received information through the control room that a girl has fallen into the drain located near the under-construction railway over bridge in Madrasi Colony. SDRF and police started searching for the girl, but the girl could not be found till late evening.

According to the police, Vijay Kumar’s five-year-old daughter Priyanka, a resident of Madrasi Colony, was playing near the drain and slipped during the rain and fell into the drain. The girl’s father works as a drummer. The girl studies in Varni Jain School located near Prince Chowk.
