Dangerous Stunt Costs Youth Dearly; Chamoli Police Take Action

On September 26, 2024, a young tourist learned the hard way that performing stunts from a moving car is no laughing matter. While driving along the Badrinath National Highway near Hanuman Chatti, a passenger in an Innova vehicle (license plate number UK-09-TA-0852) was seen hanging out of the car, performing dangerous stunts, dancing, and taking photos.

The reckless behavior not only endangered the life of the individual but also posed a serious risk to other drivers and pedestrians on the road. Recognizing the potential danger, Badrinath police promptly stopped the vehicle at the Badrinath check post. The youth, identified as Robin, son of Rehmat, a resident of Chamba, Tehri, was issued a fine. He was also given a stern warning to follow traffic rules and refrain from repeating such dangerous actions in the future.

This incident highlights a growing trend among young people who, in their desire to create viral reels and videos for social media, are engaging in reckless and life-threatening activities. Hanging out of moving vehicles, performing stunts, and other such hazardous behaviors not only put their own lives at risk but also endanger others on the road.

The pursuit of fame on social media should never come at the cost of safety. Reckless driving and performing stunts on public roads are not only dangerous but are also illegal. Such actions violate traffic laws and carry significant penalties.

Chamoli Police have made it clear that strict action will continue to be taken against anyone who disregards traffic rules and engages in such perilous activities. Public safety remains the top priority, and those who compromise it will face legal consequences.
