Maruti Suzuki Jimny launch: Maruti Suzuki is now preparing to launch its new Jimny for those who want off-roading. With 4 doors and a smaller engine, the Jimny is all set to challenge the Mahindra Thar. But it may be difficult for Maruti Suzuki to shake the throne of Thar, there has always been an issue regarding quality and safety in Maruti Suzuki’s cars, most of the company’s vehicles have been weak in terms of safety.
So now the customers are moving towards other brands… There was a time when Maruti Suzuki used to have the maximum number of cars in the top 10 best selling cars, but now the numbers are dwindling. Now a days the customer is taking value for money seriously, hence showing interest in buying cars from brands like Tata, Mahindra and Hyundai.
According to the reports, Maruti Suzuki can launch its Jimny in India on 7th June. It will come in only two variants which will include manual and AMT. In terms of design, it looks better and the space is also fine in it. It is being told that the company can launch it within 10 lakhs. It can be used from city to highway and off roading. There is currently no information about how the performance of the new Jimny is.
The Maruti Jimny is powered by a 1.5L petrol engine, mated to a manual and automatic transmission. According to ARAI, the manual variant of the Jimny offers a mileage of 16.94km per liter (MT), while with the automatic transmission, its mileage comes to 16.39km (AT) per liter of fuel. It will be available in two variants only, in which Zeta MT/ AT and Alpha MT/AT. 4WD option will be available in the new Jimny.
This includes a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic unit. Not only this, Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4×4 drivetrain is available as standard. This SUV will come in two variant options – Zeta and Alpha. In India it will be offered in 7 color options. It will get 15 inch alloy wheels.
Will Jimny be able to stop Thar’s chariot?
Mahindra Thar is very popular in India and it is only increasing. It comes in 2WD and 4WD option, customers can buy as per their requirement. Mahindra Thar is available in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant has a 2.0-liter capacity engine, which generates power of 150PS and a 2.2-liter diesel engine generates power of 130PS. This SUV has managed to score 4 stars during the Global NCAP crash test, so it is much better in terms of safety as well.
It is being told that Mahindra is preparing to launch its Thar in 1.5L engine as well, now if this happens then the journey of Jimny can be a bit difficult, even if it has got more than 30 thousand bookings.
