Chlorine gas leak :
Chlorine gas leaked in the Jhajjra area of Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, on Tuesday morning. The incident caused panic in the area. The police, fire service, and NDRF team arrived at the scene as soon as the news of the incident was received.
According to reports, chlorine gas cylinders were kept in an empty plot in the Jhajjra area. Gas started leaking from these cylinders. Two to three people fell ill due to the contact with the leaked gas. They were taken to the hospital.
As soon as the news of the incident was received, SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh also reached the spot. He said that the gas cylinders kept in the empty plot are being removed. At the same time, the matter is also being investigated as to how the gas cylinders were kept there and how the leak occurred.
The police have also asked the people of the area to be vigilant. He said that if anyone smells gas leakage, inform the police immediately.
Chlorine gas is a poisonous gas. Contact with it can cause problems such as difficulty in breathing, burning in the eyes, burning on the skin, and headache.
