Odisha Train Accident: 3 trains collided with each other in Balasore, Odisha, at around 7.30 pm on June 2. 238 passengers died and more than 900 were injured in the accident. These derailed coaches collided with 12841 Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express and its coaches also overturned. The coaches of the Coromandel Express collided with a goods train after derailing, injuring the goods train, the official said. At present, all trains on this route have been stopped. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that I have ordered a high-level inquiry to find out why the accident happened. Getting to the root cause is important.

Train No. 15929 This train has been called back to Bhadrak.
12840 Chennai Central – Howrah will presently run via Jaroli in Kharagpur division.
18048 Vasco Da Gama – Shalimar is diverted via Cuttack, Salgaon, Angul.
22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar weekly trains will be diverted to run via Cuttack, Salgaon, Angul.
List of canceled trains
Train number 12837 Howrah Puri Super Fast Express has been cancelled. Similarly, Train No. 12863 Howrah-SMV Bangalore Express has been cancelled. Apart from this, train numbers- 12839 Howrah-Chennai Central Mail, 12895, 20831 and 02837 have also been cancelled.
State mourning in Odisha today (Saturday)
Odisha’s Information and Public Relations Department informed that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has ordered a one-day state mourning. Therefore, no festival will be celebrated on June 3 in the entire state.
