Uttarakhand Cabinet : In PM Awas Yojana Urban, a provision was made that residential buildings would be built in PPP mode for the people living in slums. When the Central Government extended the duration of the scheme, this provision of slums was removed. Now the state government has planned the revitalization of these slums.
Uttarakhand Cabinet The state government will now develop the 582 slums in Uttarakhand where 11 lakh people could not get the benefit of their houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The cabinet has made provisions for the budget to be spent on this.
In fact, a provision was made in PM Awas Yojana Urban that residential buildings would be built in PPP mode for the people living in slums. But no proposal came during the plan period.
When the Central Government extended the duration of the scheme, this provision of slums was removed. Now the state government has planned the revitalization of these slums. As a pilot project, the Municipal Corporation Dehradun had sent a proposal for the development of a slum to the government, but the budget could not be found for it.
Now the government has decided that every year 10 percent of the development fee collected for passing the map in the development authorities will be spent on the development of slums. Municipal Corporation’s project can get the benefit of this decision first.
Divisional commissioner’s committee will be formed
The committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Divisional Commissioner will take action related to the complete distribution, expenditure and hearing of the amount received from the development fee. In this, the Vice President or DM of the concerned authority will be the member secretary and Municipal Commissioner, Chief Municipal Officer, Executive Officer will be members in this committee.
