Dehradun – In the aftermath of the chaos and disturbance near Dehradun Railway Station, police took swift action and summoned various individuals to gather information about the incident. Among those called for questioning was Vikas Verma, a leader of the Bajrang Dal. However, during the course of the police inquiry, rumors spread that Verma had been arrested.
As a result of these rumors, there was a significant traffic jam in the Paltan Bazaar area, and shops were shut down. At Ghantaghar, the chaos lasted for almost four hours, with people reciting the Hanuman Chalisa. Despite the tension, Verma was eventually released after questioning and later expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Dehradun Police, and SSP Ajay Singh.
Verma appreciated CM Dhami for taking immediate cognizance of the matter and issuing necessary instructions. He also lauded SSP Ajay Singh for controlling the situation in the capital in a timely manner. Verma clarified that the rumors of his arrest were false and expressed his thanks to both the police and the government for managing the situation effectively.
