35 Individuals Fined for Drinking in Public; Issued Strict Warnings
In a bid to curb public drinking, Dehradun Police, under the directives of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun, have been conducting a widespread checking campaign across urban and rural areas of the district. The police are taking strict action against those drinking alcohol in public places, near liquor shops, and inside vehicles parked on roadsides.
As part of this ongoing drive, on 25th September 2024, the Raipur Police conducted checks in areas such as Sahastradhara Road, Chuna Bhatta, Soda Saroli Road, and Rajiv Nagar Kondoli. During the operation, 35 individuals were fined under the Police Act for consuming alcohol in public spaces. A total of ₹8,750 was collected in fines, and strict warnings were issued against repeating such behavior.
This initiative is part of the broader efforts by Dehradun Police to maintain public order and discourage activities that create nuisance in public areas. The police have made it clear that such operations will continue, and anyone caught breaking the law will face legal consequences.
